Congressman Charles C. Diggs, who represented Detroit in the House of Representatives from 1955 to 1980, is among the consequential Black federal legislators to serve in the U.S. Congress. Diggs played a key role in desegregating "Jim Crow" airport terminals, fighting for civil rights, and opening employment opportunities in aviation for Black Americans during his career.

Join Dr. Marion E. Orr, the Frederick Lippitt Professor of public policy and professor of political science and Urban Studies at Brown University, as he explores the little-known legacy of Diggs's many accomplishments.

This program will be presented in-person at the National Air and Space Museum in DC and will be streamed live on YouTube. Registration is required for in person attendance and encouraged for online viewing.
