The Black Olive Bar & Grill, located at The National Conference Center, held its third block party, “Blocktoberfest” on Friday, September 21. Food & Beverage Director Todd Goldian and his team organized a series of block parties this summer to highlight The National’s partnerships with local businesses and to provide a fun night for the local community. The Oktoberfest- themed event included partnerships with 10 local breweries, restaurants, wineries, and farms, featuring:
- Live rock music by Jumpin’ Jupiter
- Nordic Knot, a local pretzel maker, had a variety of pretzels that went well with beer.
- Fall wine tastings led by The National’s Chief Wine Officer Mary Watson-DeLauder.
- Brewmasters from Founders Brewery, Loudoun Brewing Company, Solace Brewing Company, Old Ox Brewery, Adroit Theory Brewing, Lost Rhino Brewing Company, Evolution Craft Brewing Company, Strangeways Brewing and Black Hoof Brewing Company showcase fall lagers and brews.
- Cigars Under the Stars sponsored by cigar experts Old Virginia Tobacco.
