Today's #leadership quote
“Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone.” Charles Schulz
Christmas has always been my favorite time of year. As a child I enjoyed receiving presents for sure but Christmas has always been more than that. There is a change in peoples behavior around the holidays. The gifts are nice but temporal but the giving makes you feel good and stays with you for a long time. I get to jump off the hamster wheel for a few days to celebrate friends and family and remember what is really important. If everyone gives a little something like a smile or a memory or a word of encouragement to someone who needs it over the next two days we make our cornier of the world a bit nicer and a bit happier. In the process we feel better and inspire those around us to do the same. 2020 has been a tough year for many and there continue to be challenges that we will face in the new year. For the next few days we have the opportunity to free ourselves from that debacle for a few hours and make someone's day a bit brighter. If each of us focuses on that rather than what we may have lost we can have a positive impact. Who knows maybe it will continue all year. Making other people's day brighter is more than just a Christmas miracle.
In keeping with the spirit of giving I am offering free coaching sessions to any Chamber member during the months of December and January. Give me a call at 703 445-3133 to arrange your session. You will be glad that you did
