Geospatial Tech, Defense Contracting Discussed at Chamber Event
DULLES, VA – Lee Ramseur, a Vice President and General Manager for Radiant Solutions, was the featured speaker at the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce breakfast on Feb. 9. Ramseur discussed geospatial technology advances and the state of defense contracting within the Dulles corridor.
At Radiant Solutions, Mr. Ramseur leads the Sensor and Ground Modernization line of business. His team helps analysts and warfighters reveal insight by developing cloud native advanced satellite scheduling and tasking software that collects and processes multi-source remote sensor data. In his presentation, Mr. Ramseur described the history of remote sensing and Radiant Solutions’ track record delivering innovative geospatial solutions for government and commercial customers. He shared several stories on the value of geospatial data made accessible from mobile devices, which brought the topic to life for the scores of business executives attending.
During the question and answer period, Mr. Ramseur commented on the most recent continuing resolution for the federal budget. He reminded business leaders how government shutdowns impact not only government employees but the contracting workforce too. He suggested that temporary work stoppages alter the spending habits of the contracting workforce and that community businesses should expect to feel these effects. President and CEO of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce, John Boylan echoed Mr. Ramseur’s observations and reinforced the need for corporate social responsibility on all levels in our federally dependent environment.
